Your Mission as a Rig Manager

As a Rig Manager, you will lead and oversee all operations at the rig site, ensuring that safety, compliance, and performance are upheld to the highest standards. You will be instrumental in delivering top-notch drilling services, managing crew dynamics, and fostering strong customer relations, all while adhering to stringent HSE policies.

You Will Be Handling These Duties and Responsibilities as a Rig Manager

• Lead the rig crew with authority, ensuring adherence to HSE, quality, and security standards.
• Conduct weekly, pre-tour, and toolbox meetings to align and guide the team.
• Oversee and maintain the structural integrity of the rig, including approving and updating the Rig Emergency Plan.
• Train and assess rig crew members, fostering skill development and operational excellence.
• Assess and mitigate risks, ensuring all HSE policies are understood and implemented.
• Collaborate with the IWC Well Site Leader to implement the well program and maintain professional customer relations.
• Manage daily rig operations, including drilling, well testing, rig moves, and well control.
• Supervise critical operations, ensuring comprehensive planning and oversight.
• Authorize rigging up of third-party equipment and verify compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Monitor and prioritize rig equipment repairs and oversee preventive maintenance programs.
• Ensure operational parameters are observed, supervising equipment and system tests.
• Plan and coordinate workloads for the rig crew.
• Evaluate and provide performance feedback for Rig Supervisors.

• Proven experience in rig operations and management, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in the oil and gas industry.
• Exceptional leadership and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in planning, organizing, and executing complex operational tasks.
• Outstanding communication skills to liaise effectively with team members, customers, and stakeholders.
• Technical expertise in rig systems, equipment maintenance, and operational protocols.
• Ability to evaluate risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Strong focus on fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
