About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging English lessons across Key Stages 3-5, following exam specifications and incorporating diverse literary texts and critical approaches.
  • Plan and deliver lessons that foster critical thinking, analytical skills, and communication proficiency, utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources, including creative writing, drama, and digital media.
  • Assess student progress through essays, presentations, and written work, providing detailed feedback to support their development.
  • Contribute to the development of the English curriculum, integrating current literary trends and critical perspectives, and participate in departmental planning.
  • Organize and lead creative writing workshops, book clubs, and literary events, promoting student engagement and a love of reading.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong English subject knowledge, including literature, language, and creative writing.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching English to A-Level, with a focus on both literary analysis and communication skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to fostering a love of literature and language.
