About the Role:
- Deliver engaging and challenging RE lessons across Key Stages 3-5, following exam specifications and incorporating diverse religious and philosophical perspectives.
- Plan and deliver lessons that foster critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and interfaith dialogue, utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources, including theological texts and philosophical debates.
- Assess student progress through essays, presentations, and discussions, providing detailed feedback to support their development.
- Contribute to the development of the RE curriculum, integrating current religious and ethical debates, and participate in departmental planning.
- Organize and lead religious and ethical discussions, debates, and interfaith activities, promoting student engagement and spiritual growth.
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong RE subject knowledge, including theology, philosophy, and ethics.
- Demonstrated experience teaching RE to A-Level, with a focus on both theoretical concepts and ethical reasoning.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and philosophical skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Commitment to fostering interfaith dialogue and ethical understanding within a Christian ethos.
