A dynamic and inclusive Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Wandsworth is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join their team as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive environment, delivering engaging lessons to students who face challenges in mainstream education.
Role Highlights:
- Full-time, permanent position at a vibrant PRU in Wandsworth
- Teach English to small classes of students with a variety of additional needs
- Develop and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that cater to the individual needs of students
- Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where students feel valued and motivated
- Work closely with the SENCO, support staff, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student development
- Track student progress, assess learning outcomes, and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
- Promote literacy skills and help students develop confidence in their academic abilities
Experience & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching English, ideally in a PRU or alternative provision setting
- Strong understanding of behaviour management and strategies for working with students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs
- A creative, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues
- Enhanced DBS check required
