Science Teacher (Chemistry Specialist)
Location: Lambeth
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
A thriving secondary school in Lambeth seeks a passionate and skilled Science Teacher, with a specialism in Chemistry, to join their successful Science department. This is a full-time, permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity to inspire students and contribute to a high-achieving and supportive team. The appointed Science Teacher will have a passion for Chemistry.
The Role:
- Primarily teach Chemistry across Key Stages 3, 4, and ideally Key Stage 5 (A-Level Chemistry).
- Contribute to the teaching of general Science at Key Stage 3.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate student records.
- Create a positive, safe, and inclusive laboratory/classroom environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues within the Science department.
- Contribute to curriculum development.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians.
- Adhere to all school safeguarding policies.
The Ideal Candidate: The Science Teacher will be
- Qualified: Possess QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
- Experienced: Demonstrate a proven track record of teaching Chemistry.
- Passionate: Have a genuine enthusiasm for Chemistry and a commitment to student success.
- Skilled: Display excellent classroom management and communication abilities.
- Collaborative: Be a strong team player.
- Proactive: Show a dedication to ongoing professional development.
