Are you a passionate and inspiring Chemistry Teacher with a desire to ignite a love of science in young minds? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our high-achieving Science department in a leading independent school in Westminster. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in September 2025.

We offer a rigorous and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of scientific disciplines, including Chemistry, Biology, and Physics. We have state-of-the-art laboratories and access to the latest technology and resources to support students' learning and exploration of science.

About the Role:

  • Teach Chemistry across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, up to and including A Level.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including demonstrations, experiments, and technology, to bring Chemistry to life for students.
  • Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
  • Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Chemistry curriculum remains relevant and challenging.
  • Foster a love of Chemistry in students, encouraging them to explore the wonders of the chemical world and develop their scientific understanding.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Chemistry education.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent.
  • Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Chemistry.
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching Chemistry and a commitment to student success.
  • Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Chemistry and relevant examination specifications.
  • Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
