Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our friendly primary school in Sutton. If you’re passionate about supporting children’s learning and enjoy working in a collaborative environment, this is the perfect opportunity for you to make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Lead small group and one-to-one sessions, providing tailored support for students who require additional help.
- Assist with planning and preparing resources to support learning across the curriculum.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the teacher and supporting intervention strategies.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students.
- Work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to implement strategies for students with additional learning needs.
Who We’re Looking For:
- HLTA qualification or equivalent (e.g. Level 4 or above).
- Experience working in a primary school setting, ideally as an HLTA or in a similar support role.
- A passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.
- A proactive and flexible approach to supporting students in a range of activities.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
