We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Year 2 Teacher for a high-achieving 2-form entry school in Newark, Nottinghamshire, starting after the February half term 2025. This role is full-time on a fixed-term contract. Interviews will be held as soon as possible.

Year 2 Teacher Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum for Year 2.
  • Implement effective teaching strategies to ensure high academic standards and inspire student achievement.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and setting clear targets for development.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages respect, enthusiasm, and a love of learning.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure effective curriculum delivery and share best practices.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians regularly, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Participate in school meetings, professional development opportunities, and school activities as required.

Year 2 Teacher Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience teaching in Year 2 or a similar primary setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and effective assessment methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching to meet diverse learning needs.
  • A team-oriented approach and flexibility to work collaboratively.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and educational best practices.
