About the Business Studies & Economics Department:

The Business Studies & Economics department is a collaborative and forward-thinking team with a shared passion for fostering a love of business and economics in our students. We offer a stimulating and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of topics, from marketing and management to microeconomics and macroeconomics.

About the Role:

  • Teach Business Studies and Economics across Key Stages 4 and 5, with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 3 depending on experience and interest.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including case studies, simulations, guest speakers, and real-world examples, to bring Business Studies and Economics to life for students.
  • Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
  • Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Business Studies and Economics curricula remain relevant and challenging.
  • Foster a love of business and economics in students, encouraging them to explore the world of commerce and develop their entrepreneurial skills.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in business and economics education.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent.
  • Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Business Studies and Economics.
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching these subjects and a commitment to student success.
  • Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Business Studies and Economics and relevant examination specifications.
  • Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
