About the position

Are you a passionate and energetic Teacher of Physical Education with a specialism in gymnastics? We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring individual to join our thriving PE department in a dynamic and inclusive secondary school in West London. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in April 2025.

About the PE Department:

The PE department is a collaborative and enthusiastic team with a shared commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles and developing students' physical and mental well-being. We encourage students to participate in competitive sports, develop their leadership skills, and embrace a lifelong love of physical activity.

About the Role:

  • Teach Physical Education across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a focus on gymnastics.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Develop and deliver a gymnastics program that caters to students of all abilities, from beginners to advanced gymnasts.
  • Coach and mentor students in gymnastics, helping them to develop their skills, technique, and confidence.
  • Organize and participate in gymnastics competitions and displays.
  • Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
  • Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our PE curriculum remains relevant and challenging.
  • Foster a love of Physical Education and gymnastics in students, encouraging them to lead active and healthy lifestyles.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in PE and gymnastics education.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent.
  • Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Physical Education with a specialism in gymnastics.
  • Has experience of coaching gymnastics to students of different ages and abilities.
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching PE and gymnastics and a commitment to student success.
  • Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for PE.
  • Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
