We are seeking a talented Teacher of History to join our dedicated and supportive department in an outstanding comprehensive school in Ealing. This full-time, permanent position commences in April 2025.

About the History Department:

The History department is a dynamic and collaborative team with a passion for bringing history to life. We offer a rich and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of historical periods and themes, from ancient civilizations to modern world history. We believe in making history relevant and accessible to all students, using a variety of teaching methods and resources, including interactive activities, fieldwork, and visits to historical sites. We are proud of our students' achievements in History, both in terms of exam results and their engagement with the subject beyond the classroom.

About the Role:

  • Teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching A Level depending on experience and interest.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
  • Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our History curriculum remains relevant and engaging.
  • Foster a love of history in students, encouraging them to explore the past and develop their critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in History education.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent.
  • Possesses excellent subject knowledge in History.
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
  • Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for History.
  • Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
