A specialist independent school in Westminster is seeking a passionate and dedicated KS1 Teacher to join their team from April 2025. This is a unique opportunity to work with young students who have special educational needs (SEN) in a nurturing and tailored learning environment, where creativity and individual development are at the heart of the school’s ethos.
Role Highlights:
- Full-time, permanent position at a specialist independent school in Westminster
- Teach Key Stage 1 students with a range of special educational needs, including autism (ASC), speech and language difficulties, and learning disabilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that cater to the individual needs of each student
- Provide a structured and supportive environment that promotes both academic progress and social-emotional development
- Foster a love of learning by incorporating creative and hands-on approaches into lessons
- Collaborate closely with the SENCO, support staff, and external professionals to ensure personalized learning plans are effectively implemented
- Regularly assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies to ensure continuous improvement
- Promote inclusive values and support each student’s unique journey in a safe, caring environment
Experience & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching KS1 students, ideally with experience in a specialist or SEN setting
- A patient, empathetic, and creative approach to teaching children with additional needs
- Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and the ability to adapt it to suit diverse learners
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team
- Enhanced DBS check required
