History Teacher - Full-time, Permanent (September 2025 Start)

We are seeking a dedicated educator to join our dynamic Humanities department, starting September 2025. About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging History lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, following relevant examination specifications.
  • Plan and prepare high-quality lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students are challenged and supported.
  • Utilize a range of teaching methods and resources, including historical documents, debates, and interactive activities, to bring history to life.
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support individual learning journeys.
  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level History examinations, ensuring they have a strong understanding of assessment criteria.
  • Contribute to the development of the History curriculum and resources.
  • Foster a love of history in students, encouraging them to develop their analytical and research skills.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and enrichment programs related to history and current affairs.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge in History.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Experience in preparing students for GCSE and A-Level History examinations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • A passion for history and a commitment to fostering critical thinking.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
