Candidate Profile:
The ideal English Teacher will be:
- A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent).
- Experienced in teaching English Language and Literature at KS3 and KS4. (KS5 experience desirable, but not essential).
- Passionate about English and able to engage students of all abilities.
- A skilled classroom practitioner with strong behaviour management.
- Committed to raising attainment and fostering a love of reading and writing.
- A collaborative team player.
- Dedicated to ongoing professional development.
Role Responsibilities: The English Teacher will:
- Plan, prepare and deliver dynamic English lessons.
- Differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs.
- Regularly assess student progress; provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate student records.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Collaborate with colleagues within the English department.
- Contribute to curriculum development initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians.
- Adhere to all safeguarding policies and procedures.
