Position Details Role: Design and Technology Teacher Location: Walsall Contract: Full-Time Start Date: ASAP Teaching Levels: KS3–KS5 About the Role The successful candidate will deliver a balanced DT curriculum, combining theoretical learning with practical activities that develop students' technical knowledge, creativity and problem-solving skills. You will help learners understand design processes, explore materials and manufacturing techniques, and build confidence in bringing their ideas to life. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging DT lessons across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 teaching where appropriate. Develop practical projects that encourage creativity and independent thinking. Teach design principles, material properties and appropriate manufacturing techniques. Assess students' work and provide clear feedback to support improvement. Maintain an organised learning environment and follow workshop health and safety procedures. Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum planning and student achievement. The Ideal Candidate Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification. Has strong subject knowledge in Design and Technology. Can deliver engaging practical and theoretical lessons. Demonstrates effective classroom management and strong communication skills. Is committed to helping students develop their technical abilities and achieve their potential.
