Software Engineer, Backend

About the Role Join an early-stage cybersecurity team as a backend-focused Software Engineer. You will build and scale a platform that helps organizations understand and manage security risks across their digital environments. What You'll Do Build and maintain backend services and integrations with enterprise security platforms. Design platform components and event-driven pipelines that process large volumes of security data using Google Cloud Pub/Sub. Develop multi-tenant data features, including risk scoring, anomaly detection, and time-series aggregation. Contribute to infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform, including deployment pipelines, monitoring, and observability. Ship features regularly, debug production issues, and collaborate with teammates, with opportunities for direct customer interaction. What We're Looking For Five or more years of backend software engineering experience, ideally in an early-stage or high-growth startup. Hands-on experience with Go and macOS and Windows endpoints. Strong backend experience, with substantial backend work if your background is full-stack. Experience with systems internals, platform engineering, and production-scale systems. Ability to own projects end to end, make and document architectural decisions, and deliver beyond maintenance work. Experience working with large-scale systems and, ideally, deploying LLMs in production. Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship. Compensation & Benefits Base salary is $160,000 to $200,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available. Location Hybrid role based in California, United States.
