Risk Analyst

About the Client Our client is an international payment services provider for online businesses. It offers payment processing, merchant accounts and tools for recurring payments and payouts. Role Overview Take on a role where your analysis helps protect merchants and keep payment activity within risk limits. You will investigate suspicious transactions, track fraud and chargeback trends, and work with Compliance, Sales and Account Management to make balanced decisions. Key Responsibilities Monitor transactions daily to detect, prevent and report suspicious activity. Use analytical tools to assess and mitigate money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud and reputational risks. Track fraud and chargeback ratios at merchant and acquirer levels. Identify patterns and anomalies in transaction data. Work with Compliance, Sales and Account Management to keep the merchant portfolio aligned with risk appetite. Communicate risk findings and decisions clearly to relevant teams. Requirements 2+ years of experience in compliance or risk functions. Knowledge of Visa and Mastercard rules and risk programs. Good data analysis skills. Working level of English, and preferably Russian and Latvian. Understanding of banking, particularly AML transaction monitoring, is a plus. Key Soft Skills Analytical and detail-oriented, with an eye for patterns and anomalies in large volumes of transactions. A clear, constructive communicator who can explain risk decisions to Sales and Account Management. Takes ownership and makes balanced decisions under time pressure.
