Senior Data Steward

Project/Client: Banking Location: Baltic States (remote) Start Date: ASAP Duration: 6 months (possibility to extend) Hourly Rate: €35–45/hour, B2B Language: English Role Overview: We are looking for a Senior Data Steward to support data governance , data quality , and regulatory compliance initiatives in a banking environment. The role focuses on BCBS239 -related activities, including resolving data quality issues, maintaining business glossaries, implementing data quality controls, and defining data lineage in close collaboration with business and technology stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Support data governance , data quality , and regulatory compliance initiatives Contribute to BCBS239 activities, including data quality issue resolution and control implementation Maintain business glossaries and document data lineage Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to improve data management practices Translate business needs into technical requirements and support delivery using SQL , JIRA , and Confluence Must-Have Requirements: Experience in data governance , data management, or similar roles Experience in the banking or financial services industry Strong SQL skills and data analysis capabilities Understanding of data warehousing and reporting concepts Knowledge of database structures Experience with MS Office , JIRA , and Confluence Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements Excellent communication skills Fluent English written and spoken Nice to Have: Regulatory reporting experience Knowledge of BCBS239 Business knowledge of banking products, systems, and processes Experience with data lineage frameworks Experience with data quality frameworks
