About the position
Position Overview A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead and optimize end-to-end supply chain operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient, cost-effective flow of materials and finished goods while supporting production schedules and meeting customer expectations. Reporting to senior operations leadership, this individual will oversee shipping, receiving, inventory control, and supply planning functions, while driving continuous improvement across logistics and warehouse operations. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, with a strong background in planning, inventory management, and team leadership within a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Supply Chain Operations Oversee daily shipping, receiving, warehousing, and inventory control activities Ensure accuracy of inbound/outbound shipments, documentation, and inventory records Coordinate cross-functionally to support timely order fulfillment and production needs Resolve discrepancies related to shipments, inventory, and documentation Supply Planning & Inventory Management Lead development and execution of monthly supply plans aligned with demand forecasts Create and manage the Master Production Schedule and support capacity planning Monitor inventory levels, turnover, and accuracy across multiple locations Manage excess and obsolete inventory while ensuring FIFO compliance Implement strategies to mitigate supply chain risks and disruptions Logistics & Transportation Manage carrier, 3PL, and logistics partner relationships to ensure service and cost efficiency Oversee domestic and international shipping compliance and documentation Coordinate time-sensitive and high-priority shipments, including after-hours as needed Track outbound product flow and proactively address delays Continuous Improvement & Performance Identify and implement process improvements across supply chain and warehouse operations Establish and track KPIs to measure performance and drive accountability Optimize warehouse layout, material flow, and space utilization Lead initiatives to improve service levels, efficiency, and cost control Team Leadership Lead, coach, and develop supply chain team members Establish clear performance expectations and accountability measures Drive engagement, communication, and alignment within the team Develop standardized processes, workflows, and performance metrics Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with operations, manufacturing, sales, and procurement to align priorities Participate in production and planning meetings to communicate material readiness and risks Provide regular updates on supply chain performance and challenges Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related field preferred Experience 5+ years of progressive supply chain experience Background in manufacturing environments strongly preferred Experience with production planning, inventory control, and logistics management Skills & Competencies Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Epicor, or similar) Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities Experience managing suppliers, carriers, and logistics partners Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Proven ability to lead teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage competing priorities Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence Flexibility to support off-hours operations when necessary Work Environment & Physical Requirements Ability to work in both office and warehouse environments Capable of standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to ~50 lbs) as needed Comfortable working in varying conditions, including temperature fluctuations and noisePlace of work
