We are seeking a dynamic and inspiring Drama Teacher to join a thriving Creative Arts faculty in Southend-on-Sea . Set against the backdrop of Essex’s vibrant coastline, famous for the world's longest pleasure pier and a bustling cultural scene (including the Cliffs Pavilion and Palace Theatre), this school offers a fantastic spotlight for a dedicated practitioner. We are looking for an educator who can champion the power of performance to develop empathy, voice, and critical thinking. Core Responsibilities Pedagogical Excellence: Planning and delivering high-energy, practical, and theoretical lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5 , with a focus on GCSE and A-Level Drama & Theatre Studies . Performance Direction: Leading, directing, and producing high-quality whole-school productions, showcase evenings, and community arts festivals. Practitioner Theory: Guiding students through the study and practical application of key practitioners, including Stanislavski, Brecht, Artaud, and Frantic Assembly. Curriculum Innovation: Crafting an inclusive curriculum that explores diverse playwrights, physical theatre, devising, and script analysis. Exam Mastery: Mentoring examination cohorts through the AQA, Edexcel, or Eduqas specifications, ensuring students excel in both their practical performance exams and written analytical papers. Technical Integration: Introducing students to lighting, sound design, stage management, and set design to provide a holistic view of the theatre industry. Why This School?
