Estimation Engineer

About the position

The Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, budgets, and project proposals based on technical specifications, drawings, and client requirements. This role supports project planning and bidding processes by analyzing materials, labor, equipment, and timelines to ensure competitive and profitable project execution. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced in cost estimation within industries such as construction, engineering, manufacturing, or infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects based on specifications, drawings, and scope requirements Analyze labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs Review project plans, blueprints, and technical documents Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams Develop and maintain cost databases and estimation tools Support bid preparation, tender submissions, and proposal development Identify risks, cost-saving opportunities, and value engineering options Monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations Ensure estimates align with company standards and project budgets Utilize estimation and project tools such as AutoCAD and Primavera P6 Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for all estimates Assist in post-bid analysis and project cost tracking Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field required Experience 3 to 7 years of experience in cost estimation or project engineering Experience in construction, manufacturing, oil and gas, or infrastructure projects preferred Skills and Competencies Strong analytical and numerical skills Proficiency in cost estimation techniques and tools Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Strong communication and collaboration skills Knowledge of project management principles Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines Familiarity with industry standards and cost databases Compensation Annual Salary Range: $75,000 to $110,000 USD, depending on experience, industry, and qualification Performance-based bonuses or project incentives may be available Benefits Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching Paid time off including vacation, sick leave, and holidays Flexible work arrangements where applicable Employee wellness and assistance programs Professional development and certification support Life and disability insurance coverage Tuition reimbursement programs Work Environment This role may be based in an office, hybrid, or project environment within the United States.
