Staff Software Engineer (iOS)

About the position

OverView We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer (iOS) with 5+ years of experience to build and ship Harmonic's first iOS application from scratch. We are seeking a founding engineer with clear product and design intuition who can own the end-to-end development process. This is a crucial role to establish our mobile presence and set the quality standard for our native app experiences. What will you be doing? Own the end-to-end development of Harmonic's first iOS app, from initial setup and architecture to shipping the final product. Partner with Product and Design leads to create exceptional, world-class interactive experiences, particularly with AI-native chat UX. As the founding iOS engineer, drive key technical decisions and help shape the future of mobile development at Harmonic. Establish scalable foundations, including testing strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and reusable components to enable future team growth. Turn ideas into polished, production-ready features quickly, defining what a great native iOS app feels like for our users. Seniority 7+ years of experience building and maintaining iOS applications Work experience Owned or oversaw end-to-end development of an iOS app with strong polish and taste (e.g., RobinHood, Spotify); open to B2B or B2C Preferred Archetype: Mix of both Big Tech & startup experience and has demonstrated strong progression throughout (e.g, promotions) Founding iOS engineer experience, building an app from scratch. Experience at a high-growth, venture-backed startup. Experience at a best-in-class iOS engineering organization (e.g., Apple) Education: BS or MS in Computer Science Degree from a Top 20 undergraduate institution Skills Deep proficiency in Swift Deep proficiency with modern iOS frameworks (UIKit and/or SwiftUI) Proven ability to architect and ship 01 apps with modular architecture and scalable abstractions
