The Opportunity A respected community college in Rochester, New York is seeking a senior technology executive to serve as its next Chief Information Officer. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for aligning enterprise technology strategy with institutional goals, guiding digital transformation, and strengthening service delivery across the college. Your Day-to-Day Lead institution-wide technology planning, implementation, and maintenance aligned with the college's strategic plan and operational priorities Provide strategic direction for emerging technologies, including AI, machine learning, analytics, automation, and digital platforms Oversee enterprise systems, infrastructure, information security, systems integration, desktop computing, web services, customer support, and data governance Lead lifecycle planning and replacement strategies for classroom and office technology Drive departmental realignment and organizational structure improvements to enhance efficiency and service delivery Manage technology policies, standards, and procedures, including compliance with federal and state regulations governing data protection, digital accessibility, and AI Exercise budget authority and administrative approvals Build and lead a high-performing technology leadership team Partner with academic and administrative divisions to support day-to-day and long-term technology needs Develop collaborative relationships across divisions and with SUNY system partners Support staff development in AI literacy, data analytics, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies Serve as institutional liaison for technology governance, data strategy, AI ethics, accessibility, and digital innovation initiatives What We're Looking For Required Master's degree from an accredited institution Minimum five years of progressive administrative experience leading IT organizations, including personnel management Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and work effectively with diverse faculty, staff, and student populations Strong background in information security frameworks, standards, policies, and tools Experience using data to drive decisions and leading organizational change Proven ability to manage complex projects, multifaceted systems, and budget challenges Preferred Experience in a higher education environment Previous CIO-level experience Experience implementing, governing, or evaluating AI-driven tools and platforms Familiarity with Ellucian Banner, Slate, Microsoft 365, Teams, Zoom, or Argos Bilingual skills, including Spanish or other languages, are a plus Ready to Apply?
