Family Law Associate Attorney

About the position

Looking for an associate-level family law attorney with 2–4 years of experience. This is not an entry-level role: candidates must have hands-on family law experience, not just adjacent litigation background. The firm is explicit that they will train and invest heavily in associates, but that investment requires a family law foundation to build on. Associates here get to be attorneys and nothing else; no collections, no admin, no secondary roles with real & deliberate focus on upward mobility. Seniority 2 - 4 years of experience as a practicing family law attorney. Work experience Currently practicing family law in California. Court experience preferred Steady tenure at prior firms preferred. Education Active member of the California Bar. JD from an accredited law school Hard skills Foundational family law knowledge, e.g., dissolution, support calculations, custody frameworks Legal drafting: MSAs, declarations, motions. Writing samples required for all candidates (3 samples covering: one MPA, one declaration, subject matter touching assets/debts and support or custody) Court experience and comfort in hearings is a plus; absence is manageable but will affect starting level Soft skills Genuinely motivated by family law Strong client-empathy Coachable and growth-oriented. Collaborative and supportive team player.
