Maintenance Manager – Food Manufacturing | Cherokee, IA | Onsite Salary: $120K–$160K DOE + discretionary bonus Shift: 1st Shift (7 AM–5 PM, M–F) with occasional 2nd/3rd shift or weekend support Location: Cherokee, Iowa – Onsite About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead and optimize plant maintenance operations in a high-volume food manufacturing facility. You will oversee the maintenance of production equipment, building systems, refrigeration, and plant grounds, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with OSHA and other regulations. Key Responsibilities: Manage plant maintenance teams and coordinate maintenance of bread, batter, fryer, refrigeration, and protein processing systems. Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans to maximize equipment uptime. Oversee plant layout changes, capital and expense budget projects, and vendor/contractor work. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including OSHA, and maintain a proactive safety culture. Provide tools, training, and resources for maintenance staff to succeed. Troubleshoot and solve mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and PLC system issues efficiently. Qualifications: Education: Associate's degree or equivalent experience in electrical/mechanical fields. Experience: Minimum 5 years of maintenance management in food manufacturing (bread, batter, fryer). Skills: Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude; CAD and PLC knowledge; refrigeration/ammonia experience. Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple projects, and communicate with senior management. Other: OSHA 30-hour certification or equivalent; ability to work in environments from -40F to 110F; use of PPE, including safety glasses and hearing protection. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally, walk and stand as needed, and work in noisy or temperature-extreme environments.
