Senior Data Architect – Application & Cloud Databases

We’re looking for a passionate and skilled Data Architect / Database Specialist to join a forward-thinking team managing application databases in a dynamic cloud environment. About the Role As a Senior Data Architect in our Data Foundation group, you will be part of a team of specialists responsible for managing PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Oracle databases in AWS. You’ll work closely with product development teams, guiding database solutions, supporting runtime operations, and helping to define and implement scalable, reliable, and secure architectures. This is more than a traditional DBA role—you’ll contribute to automation, quality, and continuous improvement of database services, while collaborating with architects and developers to shape the future of our data environment. What You’ll Do Manage production PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Oracle databases in AWS, including tuning, capacity planning, and consolidation. Support development teams with SQL development and runtime database operations. Collaborate with project teams to understand requirements and guide them toward optimal database solutions. Work alongside domain architects to design, implement, and secure database solutions. Contribute to the improvement of database services through automation, monitoring, quality, and security practices. Participate in on-call support rotations to ensure database reliability. What We’re Looking For Hands-on experience managing PostgreSQL and MongoDB in production environments (minimum 3 years). Strong experience managing databases in AWS and a solid understanding of cloud engineering principles. Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational databases; good knowledge of MongoDB. Ability to work independently, drive initiatives, and implement changes in larger database environments. Familiarity with monitoring tools beyond CloudWatch is a plus. Experience leveraging best practices in continuous integration and delivery is a plus. Fluent in English , both written and spoken.
