Title: Key Account Manager Location: TX, GA, IL, or NY Type of contract: Full-time: w2 or 1099 Salary: $63,000 - 65,000 per year Working hours: M-F 8am-5pm Our Company International Trade Imports LLC dba The Ricky Joy Company, founded in 2007, is a family-owned company based in Atlanta, GA. Learn more about us at http://www.rickyjoy.com and http://www.drinkplis.com Position Overview Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers, category managers, merchandising teams, and supply chain contacts. Serve as the main commercial point of contact for assigned national and regional accounts. Lead regular business reviews, line reviews, promotional planning meetings, and annual negotiations. Develop account-specific growth plans with clear sales, distribution, and profitability objectives. Deliver annual sales, gross margin, distribution, and trade spend targets. Identify new distribution opportunities across assigned chains, wholesalers, and regions. Expand assortment through new item presentations, innovation launches, seasonal items, and display programs. Negotiate pricing, promotions, temporary price reductions (TPRs), ad programs, displays, and new item authorizations. Drive execution of new product launches and distribution gains at store level. Build annual joint business plans with each customer. Develop sales forecasts by customer, item, and month. Analyze performance versus plan and identify risks/opportunities. Recommend customer-specific assortment, pricing, promotional, and merchandising strategies. Align closely with marketing, supply chain, finance, and field execution teams. Financial Management Manage customer P&L, including: net sales, gross sales, trade spend, promotional ROI, gross margin, rebates, freight impact, and deductions. Ensure all customer programs are profitable and aligned with company targets. Monitor accruals, deductions, shortages, chargebacks, and claims. Track and improve promotional effectiveness and return on investment. Execution & Field Alignment Coordinate with brokers, merchandisers, distributor sales reps, and field teams to ensure execution. Monitor shelf placement, display compliance, pricing, and in-stock performance. Use tools such as syndicated data, POS data, distributor depletion reports, and field execution tools. Support store visits, trade shows, customer meetings, and key market visits. Job Details Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Finance, or related field. (Mandatory) 4+ years of sales or key account management experience in food, beverage, CPG, or grocery. (Mandatory) Experience working with U.S. retailers (Walmart/Kroger), regional chains, wholesalers (Kehe), or distributors. (Mandatory) Strong knowledge of retail math, margins, pricing, trade spend, deductions, and P&L management. Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills. Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills. Ability to analyze data and turn it into actionable recommendations. Ability to travel 50% - 70%, depending on territory and customer base. Bilingual English/Spanish is highly preferred for Hispanic-focused businesses. Preferred Experience Experience with major retailers such as Walmart, Publix, Kroger, Food Lion, HEB, or regional supermarket chains. Experience working with brokers and distributor networks. Experience in small or mid-sized food companies where the person must be highly hands-on. Familiarity with syndicated data tools like Nielsen, Circana, or retailer portals.
