Finance Automation Specialist

About the position

Summary: A leading global insurance firm is seeking a strategic Finance Automation Specialist to join their Finance Enablement team in BGC. This role serves as the primary driver for process optimization, responsible for identifying automation opportunities and designing robust solutions using Excel VBA, Alteryx, and Power Automate. The ideal candidate will act as a technical lead, bridging the gap between Finance and IT to enhance data integrity, ensure regulatory compliance, and guide junior team members in delivering high-impact automation initiatives. Responsibilities: Collaborate with Finance and IT teams to identify, prioritize, and manage a pipeline of automation and process optimization opportunities. Conceptualize, design, build, and implement automation solutions using Excel VBA, Alteryx, and emerging tools like Power Automate. Take accountability for the quality, integrity, and security of Finance data within automated tools, ensuring alignment with global policy requirements. Provide comprehensive training and ongoing technical support to Finance team members to ensure effective tool adoption. Ensure all finance automated processes adhere to strict internal controls and external regulatory requirements. Coordinate with regional and corporate IT teams, as well as third-party service providers, for complex solutions involving RPA or system enhancements. Act as the Team Lead for Finance Automation initiatives, guiding junior members and managing stakeholder communications regarding expectations and results. Participate in stakeholder discussions to secure buy-in and assist in the strategic management of the automation roadmap. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Information Technology, Accounting, or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in financial process automation and data management within a corporate environment. Advanced proficiency in Excel VBA is required; experience with Power Automate or RPA tools is highly desirable, and background with Alteryx is a big plus! Strong understanding of internal controls, data privacy, and financial compliance standards. Demonstrated leadership ability or experience as a team lead in a project-based environment. Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for finance business partners. Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
