IT Release Manager

Job Title: IT Release Manager Experience: 5–10+ years in Release Management / IT Delivery Location: Melbourne / Canberra / Brisbane (Hybrid) Job Type: Contract Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced IT Release Manager to plan, coordinate, and manage end-to-end release cycles across complex IT environments. The role focuses on ensuring smooth, secure, and high-quality releases aligned with business requirements. Key Responsibilities: Plan and schedule releases based on business requirements, scope, and timelines Coordinate release activities across multiple teams and third-party stakeholders Manage the end-to-end release lifecycle including build, testing, deployment, and review Ensure releases meet quality, security, and compliance standards Communicate release plans, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders Identify and manage risks and issues with appropriate mitigation strategies Conduct post-release reviews and drive continuous improvement Maintain release processes, documentation, and governance standards Manage release strategies such as staged, pilot, blue/green, or feature-based releases Key Requirements: Strong experience in release management within complex IT environments Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders Experience with release governance, risk management, and compliance Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Familiarity with modern release strategies and DevOps practices Experience in enterprise or government environments preferred Important Note: Active NV1 Security Clearance is mandatory
