Data Scientist in Houston, TX. Summary: We are seeking an applied Data Scientist to help turn data into actionable insights and predictive solutions. This role focuses on hands-on model development within a modern data platform, partnering closely with engineering teams to solve real-world optimization and decision-making problems. Responsibilities: Develop, train, and iterate on machine learning models in Databricks Apply neural networks, tree-based models, and classical optimization techniques Collaborate closely with data and engineering teams on applied ML initiatives Integrate and work with vendor-provided models and internal ML pipelines Support new ML use cases and early AI/agent-based solutions as needed Contribute to ML Ops practices (conceptual support, not infrastructure ownership) Hands-on experience working in Databricks Experience building and deploying ML models (not just analysis) Strong understanding of ML fundamentals and optimization methods Engineering-oriented mindset with applied problem-solving experience Comfortable working cross-functionally with engineersPlace of work
