Staff Accountant

About the position

Seattle Search Group Staff Accountant (Contract) Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid) Compensation: $35–$43/hour We are working with a growing organization in the Seattle area seeking a Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations during a key period of transition. This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on reconciliations, account analysis, and month-end support. Key Responsibilities Manage recurring cash reconciliations across multiple accounts and entities Maintain and update prepaid schedules and related account activity Review account balances and supporting detail to ensure accuracy Identify, research, and resolve variances and reconciling items Assist with month-end close, including journal entries and account tie-outs Partner cross-functionally to gather data and resolve discrepancies Support audit requests and documentation as needed Contribute to ongoing process improvements and ad hoc accounting tasks Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field 1–3+ years of accounting experience Strong understanding of GL activity, reconciliations, and close processes Detail-oriented with solid analytical skills Able to prioritize work and meet deadlines with minimal supervision Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment Proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus Work Environment Hybrid schedule (onsite + remote flexibility) Collaborative team environment Benefits (if eligible) Medical, dental, and vision coverage Paid time off and holidays 401(k) participation Additional benefits based on eligibility and assignment length
