The Opportunity We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Rockford that are seeking skilled PLC Programmers. Key Responsibilities Develop, program, and debug PLC logic for new and existing automated manufacturing equipment. Troubleshoot and diagnose complex electrical and controls issues on production machinery. Commission, test, and validate integrated control systems and HMI interfaces. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for PLC programs, electrical schematics, and control system architectures. Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to optimize machine performance and reliability. Implement modifications and upgrades to existing PLC programs to improve efficiency and incorporate new functionalities. Ensure all programming and control system designs comply with industry standards and safety regulations. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related technical field. 3+ years of hands-on experience programming PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block Diagram programming languages. Demonstrated experience with HMI/SCADA system development and integration. Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP/IP). Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and P&ID diagrams for troubleshooting and design. Bonus Qualifications Experience with HMI/SCADA development and integration. Familiarity with industrial networking protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, PROFINET). Exposure to database integration (e.g., SQL) for data logging or recipe management. Experience with robotics programming or vision systems integration.
