The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Manistee seeking NPI Engineers who want more than a lateral move. Key Responsibilities Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for new products from concept to mass production. Collaborate with design engineering to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA). Manage pilot production runs, identify manufacturing issues, and implement corrective actions. Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including Bills of Material (BOMs), work instructions, and process flow diagrams. Design, procure, and qualify new tooling, fixtures, and equipment required for new product introduction. Drive yield improvement and cost reduction initiatives during the new product ramp-up phase. Conduct manufacturing risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for new product processes. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing). 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, with a focus on New Product Introduction (NPI). Demonstrated expertise in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles. Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies, FMEAs, and statistical process control (SPC). Experience developing and optimizing manufacturing processes, selecting equipment, and creating detailed work instructions.
