Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, and workholding devices for specific part geometries. Create and verify efficient tool paths to ensure accurate material removal and surface finish. Perform program simulations and dry runs to identify and correct potential errors or collisions. Generate and maintain comprehensive setup sheets, tool lists, and other manufacturing documentation. Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot machining issues and refine processes. Continuously improve existing programs for increased efficiency, quality, and reduced cycle times. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in G-code and M-code programming for CNC lathes. Demonstrated expertise with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360). Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, and material properties. Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, including GD&T. Practical experience with CNC lathe setup, operation, and troubleshooting. Bonus Qualifications Experience programming CNC Mills or other multi-axis machines. Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling for fixture design or part modification. Familiarity with CMM programming or advanced metrology techniques. Experience with automation integration, such as robotic loading systems.
