Key Responsibilities Develop, optimize, and validate laser welding processes for new and existing products. Troubleshoot and resolve laser weld quality issues, equipment malfunctions, and production bottlenecks. Design, procure, and implement welding fixtures and tooling to ensure part accuracy and repeatability. Conduct metallurgical analysis and inspect weld integrity to ensure compliance with specifications. Manage and maintain laser welding equipment, including preventative maintenance, calibration, and upgrades. Create and update detailed process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures. Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure seamless product launch and continuous improvement. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. 3+ years of hands-on experience with industrial laser welding systems, including process development and optimization. Strong understanding of laser welding principles, beam delivery systems, optics, and safety standards. Proficiency in metallurgy, material science, and weld defect analysis across various metal alloys. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot laser welding equipment and resolve process-related quality issues. Bonus Qualifications Experience integrating laser welding processes with robotic systems and automation. Proficiency in advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) methods for weld quality analysis. Familiarity with process simulation software (e.g., FEA) for weld design and optimization. Knowledge of metallurgy for exotic alloys or dissimilar material welding applications.
