The Opportunity We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in DeWitt that are seeking skilled Incoming Inspection Technicians. Key Responsibilities Perform detailed visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of incoming materials, components, and sub-assemblies against blueprints, specifications, and purchase orders. Utilize various measurement tools and equipment, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMMs, to verify material conformity. Accurately record and document all inspection results, including acceptance, rejection, and deviation data, in the quality management system. Identify, segregate, and tag non-conforming materials, initiating Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and coordinating with relevant departments. Collaborate with purchasing, engineering, and supplier quality teams to resolve material quality issues and improve supplier performance. Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment according to established schedules and procedures to ensure accuracy. Ensure all incoming materials meet quality standards and are properly released to production or quarantined. Recommended Qualifications Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Proficiency in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparators). Strong attention to detail and accuracy in identifying non-conformances. Basic understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and quality control principles. Experience with data entry and basic computer applications for record-keeping. Bonus Qualifications Experience with metrology software (e.g., Calypso, PC-DMIS, Minitab). Familiarity with Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles. Basic understanding of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) techniques. Experience with ERP/MRP systems for inventory or quality transactions.
