Key Responsibilities Perform detailed dimensional and visual inspections of first article parts against engineering drawings and specifications. Utilize precision measuring equipment, including CMM, calipers, micrometers, and gauges, for accurate data collection. Generate and complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), typically AS9102 forms, documenting all inspection results. Interpret complex engineering blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles. Identify, document, and communicate non-conformances to engineering, quality, and production teams. Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to resolve discrepancies and improve manufacturability. Maintain and calibrate inspection tools and equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with quality standards. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Demonstrated expertise in operating a variety of precision measurement equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, CMM). Proven experience generating and reviewing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), ideally following AS9102 requirements. Solid understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and relevant manufacturing quality standards. Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills for accurate record-keeping and non-conformance reporting.
