Key Responsibilities Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to accurately determine project scope and requirements. Calculate material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs for manufacturing processes. Collaborate with sales, engineering, and production teams to gather necessary information. Prepare comprehensive and competitive cost estimates and proposals for new and existing products. Identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities or alternative manufacturing methods. Maintain and update estimating databases and cost models. Review and evaluate supplier quotations for raw materials, components, and outsourced services. Recommended Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in cost estimating, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, labor costs, and overheads. Advanced proficiency with estimating software, ERP/MRP systems, and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills for accurate cost analysis. Bonus Qualifications Experience with ERP/MRP systems relevant to manufacturing. Familiarity with specific manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, welding, injection molding). Understanding of cost accounting principles and financial analysis. Ability to navigate and interpret CAD files for material take-offs and process visualization.
