Key Responsibilities Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to define project scope. Calculate detailed material, labor, tooling, and overhead costs for manufacturing projects. Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates and proposals for customer quotations. Collaborate with sales, engineering, and production teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness. Obtain competitive pricing from suppliers for raw materials, components, and outsourced services. Identify and assess potential risks or challenges that could impact project costs or timelines. Maintain and update cost databases and estimating software with current pricing and production data. Recommended Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications. Strong understanding of manufacturing cost drivers, including material, labor, and overhead. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP/MRP systems. Solid knowledge of various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, fabrication, assembly). Bonus Qualifications Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for cost analysis and data extraction. Experience with CAD software for viewing and interpreting engineering drawings. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles. Specific experience in a relevant manufacturing process (e.g., CNC machining, fabrication, assembly).
