Key Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC Swiss lathes according to job specifications and work instructions. Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and manufacturing work orders. Perform in-process quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Make necessary machine adjustments, including offset and tool changes, to maintain part quality and optimize performance. Load raw material into bar feeders and manage material changes efficiently. Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine alarms and operational issues to minimize downtime. Maintain accurate production records and complete all required documentation. Recommended Qualifications Proven experience operating and setting up CNC Swiss-type lathes (e.g., Star, Citizen, Tsugami). Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and various gauges. Ability to read, understand, and perform minor edits to G-code and M-code programs. Strong troubleshooting skills for machine, tooling, and process issues, ensuring part quality and tight tolerances. Bonus Qualifications Experience with advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparator). Basic machine troubleshooting and preventative maintenance skills. Familiarity with CAD/CAM software for program interpretation. Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Experience with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement initiatives.
