Key Responsibilities Perform detailed dimensional and visual inspections of first article parts against engineering drawings, specifications, and purchase order requirements. Utilize precision measuring instruments including CMM, calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify part conformance. Generate comprehensive First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), typically to AS9102 standards, documenting all inspection results. Identify, document, and report non-conformances, collaborating with engineering and production to resolve discrepancies. Review and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D models to determine critical dimensions and inspection points. Maintain and ensure proper calibration and functionality of all inspection tools and equipment. Provide technical support and guidance regarding inspection methods and quality standards to production personnel. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Demonstrated expertise with precision measurement tools and equipment (e.g., CMM, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators). Solid understanding and practical experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) processes and AS9102 reporting requirements. Ability to accurately identify, document, and report non-conformances and inspection results. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills for thorough product verification.
