Environmental Health & Safety Specialist | Caledonia, MI Salary Range: $58,000 - $90,000 depending on experience Are you a meticulous professional with a passion for excelling in environmental health & safety specialist? Key Responsibilities Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA). Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure adherence to EHS policies. Develop, implement, and deliver EHS training programs for all employees, including new hire orientation. Investigate all EHS incidents, near misses, and accidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions. Develop, maintain, and update EHS policies, procedures, and programs specific to manufacturing operations. Manage hazardous waste disposal, air emissions, and wastewater discharge in compliance with environmental permits. Maintain accurate EHS records, prepare regulatory reports, and manage all necessary EHS documentation. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. 3-5 years of progressive EHS experience, with a significant portion in a manufacturing or industrial setting. In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA) and their practical application in manufacturing operations. Proven experience in EHS program development, risk assessment, incident investigation, and delivering effective EHS training. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence behavior and foster a proactive safety culture.
