Key Responsibilities Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates. Calculate material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs for manufacturing projects. Collaborate with engineering, production, and sales teams to ensure accurate and competitive pricing. Develop and maintain a database of cost information for materials, labor rates, and manufacturing processes. Prepare detailed cost proposals and reports for management and clients. Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities related to cost estimates. Review and adjust estimates based on feedback, market conditions, and actual project costs. Recommended Qualifications Minimum 3-5 years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and material specifications. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, labor, and overhead costs. Advanced proficiency with estimating software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related technical field. Bonus Qualifications Experience with specialized estimating software platforms (e.g., Costimator, Sage Estimating). Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma. Demonstrated experience in value engineering or design for manufacturability (DFM). Familiarity with global supply chain dynamics and raw material costing.
