The Opportunity We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Newaygo that are seeking skilled Electrical Engineers. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and resolve electrical malfunctions in production machinery, control systems, and plant infrastructure. Design, specify, and implement electrical systems for new equipment installations and process upgrades. Program, maintain, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and industrial automation components. Manage and optimize industrial power distribution systems, ensuring reliability, safety, and energy efficiency. Ensure all electrical installations, modifications, and practices comply with safety standards (e.g., NFPA 70E, OSHA) and industry regulations. Develop and maintain accurate electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation for all plant equipment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement electrical engineering solutions for continuous process improvement and downtime reduction. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens) and HMI development for industrial automation. Strong understanding of industrial power distribution, motor control, and variable frequency drives (VFDs). Experience with electrical system design, schematic generation, and panel layout using CAD software. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and control systems in a manufacturing setting. Knowledge of relevant safety standards (e.g., NFPA 70E, OSHA) and compliance. Bonus Qualifications Experience with industrial automation platforms (PLCs, HMIs, SCADA). Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, Profinet). Experience designing or integrating robotics and vision systems. Lean Six Sigma certification or experience with continuous improvement methodologies. Proficiency in electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical).
