The Opportunity We are collaborating with multiple companies in Kentwood seeking experienced Embedded Systems Engineers. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and test embedded hardware and firmware for manufacturing equipment and processes. Write, debug, and optimize C/C++ firmware for microcontrollers controlling production line machinery. Integrate embedded systems with industrial automation protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherCAT) and PLCs. Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting for embedded systems failures to minimize production downtime. Develop and implement real-time control algorithms for precision manufacturing operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and validate embedded solutions. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for embedded system performance issues. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems development on microcontrollers. Strong understanding of digital and analog electronics, schematics, and debugging tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers). Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) principles. Familiarity with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and developing real-time, low-latency applications. Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., CAN bus, Modbus, SPI, I2C, Ethernet). Proven ability to troubleshoot complex embedded hardware/software issues and perform root cause analysis.
