Electrical Engineer | Wayland, MI Salary Range: $74,000 - $119,000 depending on experience Are you a dedicated professional with a passion for excelling in electrical engineer? The Opportunity We are working with companies in Wayland that are adding Electrical Engineers to their teams. These organizations value quality over speed in hiring. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and test electrical systems and components for manufacturing equipment and facilities. Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues on production lines, machinery, and control systems to minimize downtime. Program, configure, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and other industrial automation devices. Lead electrical aspects of capital projects, including specification, installation, and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades. Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA 70E), and company policies. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance electrical system reliability, efficiency, and performance. Develop and maintain accurate electrical documentation, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI development. Strong understanding of industrial control systems, including VFDs, servo drives, and sensor technologies. Experience with power distribution, motor control, and electrical safety standards (e.g., NFPA 70E). Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting complex electrical systems and performing root cause analysis. Familiarity with electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN) for schematic design and documentation. Bonus Qualifications Experience with PLC and HMI programming (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens). Familiarity with industrial automation and robotics integration. Knowledge of SCADA and MES systems. Experience with industrial networking protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, PROFINET). Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
