Key Responsibilities Set up, operate, and maintain CNC Swiss lathes according to production schedules and specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, G-code, and technical drawings to ensure accurate part production. Perform in-process quality inspections using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, comparators). Adjust machine offsets, change tooling, and troubleshoot minor operational issues to maintain optimal performance. Monitor machine performance, identify potential problems, and report major malfunctions to supervisors or maintenance. Document production data, quality records, and ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards. Recommended Qualifications 3-5 years of hands-on experience operating and setting up CNC Swiss-type lathes. Proficient in tooling setup, offset adjustments, and fixture installation on Swiss machines. Skilled in reading blueprints and using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, optical comparators) for quality inspection. Ability to diagnose and resolve common machining issues, tool wear, and part quality deviations. Foundational understanding of G-code and M-code for minor program adjustments and troubleshooting. Bonus Qualifications Ability to read and edit G-code programs. Experience with advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparator). Demonstrated ability to optimize machining processes for efficiency and tool life. Basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting skills for minor issues.
