Key Responsibilities Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for lathe operations using CAM software or manual G-code. Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and workholding devices based on part specifications and material. Create detailed setup sheets, tooling lists, and operational instructions for machine operators. Simulate and verify CNC programs to ensure collision avoidance, proper tool paths, and part accuracy. Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot programming issues and improve manufacturing efficiency. Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and CAD models to determine optimal machining strategies. Maintain and update a library of CNC programs and related documentation. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360) for 2-axis and multi-axis lathe programming. Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming for CNC turning centers. Ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). 3+ years of hands-on experience in CNC lathe programming and optimization in a manufacturing environment. Solid knowledge of cutting tools, workholding, feeds/speeds, and various material properties for turning applications.
