Key Responsibilities Develop and optimize CNC programs (G-code) for lathe operations using CAM software. Select appropriate tooling, cutting parameters, and workholding methods. Perform program simulations and verifications to ensure accuracy and prevent collisions. Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to determine optimal machining strategies. Create and maintain detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and program documentation. Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot and improve machining processes. Continuously seek to improve cycle times, tool life, and part quality. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in G-code and M-code programming for CNC lathes. Demonstrated experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Esprit) for toolpath generation. Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, speeds, feeds, and material properties. Ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Experience with program optimization, troubleshooting, and process improvement for lathe operations. Bonus Qualifications Experience programming multi-axis or live tooling CNC lathes. Demonstrated ability to optimize cycle times and improve manufacturing efficiency. Familiarity with CMM programming or advanced metrology techniques. Proficiency with specific advanced machine controls (e.g., Mazak Mazatrol, Okuma OSP). Experience with CAM post-processor editing or customization.
