Key Responsibilities Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs (G-code, M-code) for lathe operations. Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and workholding methods for specific parts. Create detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and operational instructions for machinists. Simulate and verify CNC programs to ensure accuracy, collision avoidance, and efficiency. Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining processes. Troubleshoot and resolve programming or machining issues to maintain production flow. Collaborate with machinists and engineers to improve manufacturing processes and part quality. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in G-code and M-code programming for CNC lathes. Demonstrated experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam Lathe, Fusion 360) for generating turning toolpaths. Strong ability to interpret engineering blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). In-depth knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, workholding, and machining parameters for various materials. Proven experience in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC lathes to prove out programs.
